- Yeah, you shouldn't notice any difference with a surge-suppressor on your
- modem line. I've got one on my line and there's no difference in my
- connection speeds.

- And judging from a friend, who's machine got cooked when a phone-line
- surge blew out his entire machine (he unplugged the power during the
- lightening storm, but forgot the phone line - internal modem!), it's
- probably a good investment.
